For charging, use only a suitable electrical outlet, grounded and protected by a fuse.
In case the electric tug has been in idle mode for more than 1 month it is recommended to connect the battery to the charger. The charger will keep the batteries in optimal condition.
If the battery is fully charged and the charger remains connected, the charger and the cooling fan stop working and a trickle charge function starts automatically.
Follow the steps below to charge the battery with the external battery charger:
- Lift the battery (vertically) upward from the battery holder and insert
the charger’s charging plug into the socket on the underside of the
battery.
Figure 1. Charging the battery - Insert the charger’s power supply plug into the power outlet.
- Wait until you see a (continuous) green light on the LCD indicator on the battery charger. This indicates that the battery is fully charged.
- Remove the charger’s power plug from the power socket. This is important as the charger needs to reset after each charging cycle.
- Take the charger’s charging plug out of the socket on the underside of the battery.
When the capacity of the battery is getting less and the electric tug can only be used for a short period of time, the battery is at the end of its service life. The battery should be replaced. Please consult your distributor.
